Events

CAIR-WA provides many different types of presentations and trainings. Our trainings equip audiences with the tools and knowledge to confidently protect themselves or any targeted person and to combat Islamophobia.

Muslim Day at the Capitol (MDAC)

MDAC is a yearly advocacy event hosted by CAIR-WA, which promotes civic engagement and advocacy between Washington’s Muslims and their Washington state lawmakers. It’s a chance for Muslims in Washington state to speak directly to elected representatives and advocate for legislation that matters to our communities. We also hold educational events on lobbying and policy.

MDAC is typically held at the Capitol in Olympia during the Legislative session in late winter. The 2024 MDAC: Day of Action for Gaza was held on February 29.

Ramadan Events

During the holy month of Ramadan, CAIR-WA visits masajid and community centers. Some years, CAIR-WA holds iftars for our staff, board, and community.

Yearly Banquet

CAIR Washington’s yearly banquet is an event that unites the Washington Muslim community and its allies at the end of each year. Held in person, this gathering brings together influential political and Muslim leaders locally and nationally, fostering important dialogue and connections. The evening offers dinner and a community award, and serves as a vital fundraiser for CAIR Washington’s advocacy efforts. By bringing people together, the banquet strengthens communal bonds and supports the organization’s mission to champion Muslim rights and voices.
